My forthcoming memoir, Map of a Heart, is about the heart (medical and metaphorical). It's also about how an everyday stranger's actions changed the course of my life and my family in extraordinary ways. I can't think of a better way to use my story than as a launching pad to hear from other everyday heroes—those inspirational people in our lives who make a difference in ways that matter.
